Dividend per share against price

The sum behind every yield figure, and a table that applies it to ten companies' 6 November 2026 close without inventing a single dividend.
The only sum
Dividend yield is the dividend per share divided by the price of one share, times 100. Two numbers go in: an amount from an announcement and a price. The amount is the company's; the price is today's, so the same dividend is a different yield at a different price.
This site has the price and not the amount, so it cannot print a yield. What it can print is the multiplier: at the 6 November 2026 close, each 1 rupee of dividend per share is 0.69% of the close for FATIMA (Rs 144.57) and 0.06% for ATLH (Rs 1,685.68).
What a dividend of 1, 5 and 10 rupees per share would be as a percent of the close
A formula applied to the 6 November 2026 close, not a dividend any company declared: the amount divided by the close, times 100. Replace the amount with the figure from a real announcement.
| Code | Close | Rs 1 per share | Rs 5 per share | Rs 10 per share |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| FATIMA | Rs 144.57 | 0.69% | 3.46% | 6.92% |
| BAHL | Rs 162.24 | 0.62% | 3.08% | 6.16% |
| ABL | Rs 172.01 | 0.58% | 2.91% | 5.81% |
| NBP | Rs 175.92 | 0.57% | 2.84% | 5.68% |
| HUBC | Rs 201.61 | 0.50% | 2.48% | 4.96% |
| EFERT | Rs 206.63 | 0.48% | 2.42% | 4.84% |
| POL | Rs 663.08 | 0.15% | 0.75% | 1.51% |
| COLG | Rs 1,199.51 | 0.08% | 0.42% | 0.83% |
| PAKT | Rs 1,452.94 | 0.07% | 0.34% | 0.69% |
| ATLH | Rs 1,685.68 | 0.06% | 0.30% | 0.59% |
Reading the table
Take any figure from a real announcement, find the company's row, and scale: a dividend of Rs 2.50 per share is half of the 'Rs 5' column. The result is the dividend as a share of the close of the session shown, before tax and before costs.
A larger percentage is not a better company. It can mean a larger dividend, a lower price, or both, and the table cannot tell which.
From a dividend to a sum of money
A holder of 100 shares receives 100 times the amount per share. With a budget of Rs 50,000, FATIMA buys 345 shares at the 6 November 2026 close and ATLH buys 29, so the same dividend per share pays 11.9 times as many rupees on the first as on the second.
That is the reason to compare the sum received with the sum invested, and not the per-share amounts.

Questions about dividends
Why does this site not print a yield?
A yield needs a dividend amount, and the amounts are not among the figures it read. A yield built on a guessed amount would be invented.
Is the table a forecast?
No. It is the formula applied to the close, with example amounts the reader replaces.
Is the yield before tax?
Yes. Any tax is outside the sum.
